Thomas Hobbes is an influential English philosopher of contract theory- government powers.
His finding authoritarianism is repugnant to us.
I find his and Hume's subjectivism as underlying obhective ethics!
They find that our considered judgments override our mere tastes and whims. I find that that is indeed underlies objective ethics.
I disagree with his notion about egoism.
